Freecycle Today - Australian Recyclers Community

Hi All,

A few years ago there were several places you could take non-re-usable computer parts like old dead motherboards and hard drives etc. I used to go to HMR, which no longer exists. The only places I can find now you have to pay something like $5 a kilo to drop them - more than a Pentium III box is worth in good running order!

Does anyone know of somewhere in Sydney that takes dead computer parts for free?

I knoe the problem you have well being an ex computer shop owner.

What about sticking them up on the classifieds. You might find a tinkerer that will take them.

I also saw someone who was sticking them together and making sculptures from them. They were selling them at the market for about $5 each. Not a bad profit for junk
