Freecycle Today - Australian Recyclers Community

I Give - I Get - I Save

Be Landfill Conscious
Many people think that because we live in such a vast country that we will never run out of space. What they don't realise is that only 6% of Australia has arable land to live on. If we continue to fill the ground with our rubbish sooner or later we will have no where to live, farm or play. Be 'Landfill Conscious', recycle all the items that can be recycled and reject products with too much packaging. How can we reduce the amount of waste that we each produce? Come to the recyclers forum and add your two cents worth. It could be worth the earth in the future.

wanting to swap whitegoods 2008/01/24 18:22 Karma: 0
Hi everyone. Im really new to this site (which by the way, is absolutely fantastic) & wanted to know whether or not we can actually swap things on here? At the moment, we have 2 great fridge/freezers. One which we have always had & the other, we were given by my partners old workplace when they upgraded & would love to swap either both together in exchange for a pigeon pair (ie. one full size fridge & 1 full size freezer) or, if we could swap one of them in exchange for a freezer chest? Is this possible at all? We live in the South of Adelaide.

Hey there. My only problem with swappin' gear is that the whitegoods may be leaking ozone depleting gasses and what I would suggest is to get together with about 10 other people and try an approach either a manufacturer or a retailer and buy 10 new energy effiecient whitegoods and get a bulk buyers discount. I have just organised 24 solar systems to generate electricity for 24 people up here in Mildura. We got the price down from $12,000 installed to $5000 installed because we purchased 24 units at one time. I have now researched another company that will install a similar system for $895 if we get 50 homes to purchase at once. So lets really recycle and get a big group of buyers together to get the latest technology in everything at a reasonable price.

Cheers
Paulieg
